Field Sales Representative

Available positions: NYC, Raleigh/Durham, Charlotte
A Field Sales Representative (FSR) is responsible for general merchandising and in-store selling duties at store level. This role is designed to maximize sales and customer service through effective route and initiative planning, and in-store servicing. A major objective of this role is to establish and maintain rapport with key store individuals, as well as regional/produce specialist while providing outstanding customer service to the extent of resetting displays and auditing the quality product on the shelf.
  • Act as point person on all Tessemae’s merchandising responsibilities within an assigned region/territory/market
  • Establish and maintain  business relationships with supermarket personnel including Produce Managers, Regional Specialists and corporate buying influences
  • Rotate through entire territory while focusing on top 200 stores within assigned territory to ensure proper placement and presentation of Tessemae’s products
  • Conduct general merchandising duties at store level; duties include but are not limited to placement of POS materials, installing glide racks, resetting displays (potentially adjusting shelves), rolling-out new chains or products, implementing secondary displays, and conducting market research projects
  • Establish and complete weekly, monthly and quarterly goals and accomplish set performance metrics
  • Regular communication and reporting to Merchandising Representative, team, RegionalSales Managers, & consumers
  • Supports Tessemae’s Sales Managers. Relay special instructions, product promotions, new products, and price changes, and communicate any sales issues/objectives.
  • Direct and manage a Demo Product Specialist team (1099 employees); tasks include executing demos that meet sales requirements through effective hiring, training, scheduling, and terminating of personnel
  • Create and Implement business advancing projects for all chains in the territory to increase awareness of new products, limit out of stocks, inform & educate Produce Manager of TPRs, Ads, Shopper Marketing Initiatives, new innovation sampling, etc.
  • Daily reporting of activities through Go-Spot Check
  • Analyze and use sales, scan, Spins (IRI or Nielsen) data for business advancement
  • The scope of the Field Sales Representative will change based on business needs and market trends

Sales Operations Coordinator

Available positions: Baltimore, MidWest
The Sales Operation Coordinator reports to the Corporate Customer Director and is the primary point of contact for the Sales Team. However, this position must have an extremely strong ability to multi-task as it will collaborate with all departments with analytical information, that will drive success in budget planning, manufacturing volume forecasting, marketing assumptions, and sales performance tracking.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have incredibly strong analytical skills and knowledge to digest data, understand and make recommendation to stake holders. Experience in the food industry, not necessary but is a strong plus.
  • Consistently ensure that data is accurate, and business is conducted with integrity and behavior always aligns with Tessemae’s values.
  • Work with sales and marketing personnel to build marketing promotions to include couponing and recommended consumer marketing. Will work with key account groups to build  presentations, short and long term marketing promotions, and arm Regional Sales with information that will assist in driving sales for new and existing customers. Will work with multiple stakeholders to motivate and drive performance of the sales team.
  • Will serve as the main point of contact for sales team and address calls for most general business issues; ability to understand when to escalate to the Corporate Customer Director.
  • Complete sales forecasts, activity reports and presentations in a timely manner. Compile demand creation call decks, forecasting and sales activity reports.
  • Act as a liaison/partner between the sales team and other internal customers.
  • Ability to work with sales to evaluate promotions effectiveness. Strong analytical skills to compare cost verses lift analysis. Ability to read data to compare flavor offerings, package analysis, length of promotions, etc. Able to think out of the box and see trends. Identify opportunities and weaknesses within territories or with clients. Make proposals to create value and increase operational efficiency.
  • Ability to work with both sales and marketing to build strong sales campaigns. Able to create pre-and post-analysis to track sales volume, lift from promotions and budget to actual sales performance. Analytically evaluate promotion trade spend.
  • Ability to work closely with Corporate Customer Director while collaborating with company leadership as well as the client teams to create value. Must have strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate quickly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical skills to determine sales planning effectiveness and ROI. Able to put together and analyze performance metrics data and make recommendations to leverage it to effectively coach and develop all sales personnel. Will work with finance personnel in charge back programs, and other data that may impact financial results and/or planning.
  • Ability to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of company products and programs. Utilize that knowledge, to work with the Corporate Customer Director to drive Strategy discussions with the sales team. Make recommendation that will drive problem solving. Not afraid to speak up and engage with multiple levels with the organization.
  • Remain knowledgeable of key processes, business initiatives and internal resources, to assist the sales team in accomplishing company goals and objectives. Able to connect the dots.
  • Monitor and analysis of programs and procedures to ensure on-time delivery, proper execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to learn and maintain in-depth working knowledge of Tessemae’s systems and processes.
  • While this position works independently, you must know the importance of collaboration with other departments to create an incredible team environment. Sales acumen a strong plus.
  • Must have a strong passion for serving and understanding customers, be results oriented and a forward thinker.
  • Able to operate as a strategic thinker that plays chess rather than checkers. Ability to think beyond today and connect the dots into the future for both Tessemae’s and our clients.
  • Proven ability in communication proficiency. Able to talk effective at any level within the organization as well as extremely strong writing skills. Able to attend and interact with customers if asked to participate.
  • Must be results driven, flexible, and operate with a teamwork orientation.
  • Above all must have a laser focus on customer/client service.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in either finance, sales or marketing analysis strongly desired. Three to five years of experience in customer analysis. Technical knowledge of the latest digital analytical tools and excel experience a must. Strategic, operational, and technical sales skills a strong plus.

National Director of Customer Marketing

Available positions: Baltimore or flexibility for remote
The National Director of Customer Marketing will report to the Chief Marketing Officer. This position will collaborate closely with Tessemae’s sales and key account positions to build strong and effective marketing programs with CPG customers. While the company headquarters are in Baltimore Maryland, the company is flexible to allow this position to operate in another state. The position will require travel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have incredibly creative marketing skills and knowledge. Experience in the food industry is a strong plus.
  • While positon is marketing, experience in sales or key account management a plus.
  • Work with sales personnel to build marketing promotions to include couponing and recommended consumer marketing. Will work with key account groups to build marketing presentations, short and long term marketing promotions, interact with retailers to support e-commerce marketing, etc.
  • Ability to work with both clients and sales to evaluate promotions effectiveness. Strong analytical skills to compare cost verses lift analysis.
  • Understanding and knowledge to act as a pioneer. Able to market clean food with fresh and all nature ingredients in what is becoming a revolution within the food industry. Think strategically and out of the box to help position a better way to eat.
  • Ability to stay current of all legislation pertaining to the food industry and labeling requirements.
  • Ability to build engaging marketing campaigns. Able to create excitement that will engage and delight our client’s customers.
  • Ability to collaborate with company leadership as well as the client teams to create value. Able to show clients how to drive revenue.
  • Strong ability to build rapport with customers to aid the sales teams in cross-selling and upsell opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills to determine marketing effectiveness and ROI of customer engagement efforts.
  • Help sales meet business objectives through customer advocacy initiatives.
  • Understanding of customer engagement and communication programs. Able to collaborate with various clients in-order to drive throughput selling.
  • Ability to gain a quick understanding of a customer’s culture, goals and objectives in-order to recommend marketing ideas and programs that will drive performance within a diverse group of clients.
  • Ability to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of company products and programs.
  • Monitor and analysis of programs and procedures to ensure on-time delivery, proper execution and customer satisfaction.

  • Work closely with the CMO to set performance standards to meet the company’s marketing goals and objectives.
  • While this position works independently, you must know the importance of collaboration with other departments to create an incredible customer experience and reach business goals and objectives.

  • Ability to implement and manage customer satisfaction surveys should the company implement. May also build a library of up-to-date customer success stories or industry articles.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands are considered that of an office environment, climate controlled, with minimal physical exertion. The position requires prolonged sitting, ability to utilize a computer and interaction with others in meetings and/or via phone. Position requires the ability to travel via airplane and to rent cars in various locations. Must be able to be flexible, react quickly and operate under stress. Strong communication skills are necessary both in the written and spoken word.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on marketing, communication or business strongly desired. Five to seven years of experience in customer marketing and creating and executing marketing campaigns and programs that drive customer engagement. food industry experience a strong plus. Technical knowledge of the latest digital marketing tools, and channels desired.
