Tessemae's Proudly Supports St. Frances Academy Football Team
“Love and live in the community we are in.”
This is the core value that drove our initial interest in the St. Frances Academy football team over two years ago. After hearing their story on ESPN’s series E:60, ‘Battle of Baltimore,’ and recognizing they were not only in our backyard, but also in one of the city’s healthy food priority areas (formally known as food deserts), the Tessemae’s team felt compelled to help in any way we could.
We immediately reached out to the football coaching staff and school leadership to coordinate game day meals for the entire team, many of whom may have otherwise gone without. We quickly got to work securing volunteers and preparing meals to ensure the St. Frances Academy athletes received a healthy pre-game lunch and a nutritious post-game meal, oftentimes shared with the opposing team, which is a true testament to the type of community St. Frances has built.
The gratitude we feel to St. Frances Academy for welcoming us into their close knit community and allowing us to live our passion to bring clean food to everyone is unmatched.
We’re so excited to cheer the players, coaches, and the entire school on as they’re recognized for all their hard work and winning spirit in a new documentary on HBO.
Go Panthers!
