Serves: 4
Prep time: 15 minutes
Inactive time: 30 minutes - 4 hours
Cook time: 10 minutes
INGREDIENTS
¼ cup pure maple syrup
2 tbsp. Tessemae’s Dijon Mustard
1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
dash of cayenne pepper (optional)
4 (5-6 oz.) salmon fillets
fresh herbs for serving (optional)
METHOD
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne (if using) until smooth. Place salmon on a rimmed plate or in a baking dish and pour the marinade over the salmon, making sure all sides are coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours.
- Once salmon has marinated, preheat an indoor grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets on the grill and cook until salmon is opaque in the center and grill marks appear, about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-well. Season the salmon with additional salt and freshly cracked black pepper, sprinkle with fresh herbs if using, and serve immediately.
Note: This salmon recipe is delicious served with grilled vegetables. Asparagus, peppers, summer squash, and mushrooms are favorites!
