Bacon, Avocado & Honey Balsamic Lettuce Wraps
Today is Jan 31, day one after our company wide Whole30. For some of us this means that reintroduction, one of the most crucial learning opportunities of the entire process, is starting. Others may be attempting to remain balanced and resist the urge to splurge. This recipe hits the spot for both! Try it with our classic Balsamic or our new Honey Balsamic. The later includes just a touch of honey, only 1 gram of sugar per Tb. You will be shocked just how sweet this tastes to your new, Whole30 approved pallet.
What you need
6 slices cooked, thick sliced bacon, halved1 avocado, halved and sliced
1 apple, cured and sliced
4 scallions, cut into thirds
6 leaves green leaf lettuce
2 packets Tessemae’s Honey Balsamic or 6 tablespoons Tessemae's Balsamic
What to do
- To eat now: Divide the bacon, avocado, apple, and scallions between 6 lettuce leaves and serve with Honey Balsamic.
- To prep ahead: This one is best assembled close to eating so that the apple and avocado don’t oxidize too badly. Day before: Cook the bacon the and store in a plastic bag at room temperature. Prep the scallions and lettuce leaves and pack in your lunch box in the fridge. In the morning, slice the avocado and apple and place in the lettuce with the scallions. Pack the Honey Balsamic pouches on the side.
